Thanks so much for your advice.I actually feel so much better just knowing others have had it as bad as me, had the tests and lived through it!! I went back to my GP yesterday and she did an ECG, but as soon as I lie down they often stop, and of course that is exactly what happened.beginning to think the ectopics have a mind of their own!! :) (don't worry, not getting paranoia just yet) lol I ended up pretty annoyed and frustrated, because the docs just don't get how bad and debilitating it can be.but you guys do, don't you!!! Anyway, also went to a Naturopath who has me on Magnesium and some other potions he seems to think will help. I didn't believe it, but boy, it's been a good year for me so far. Good luck to you, it's a journey, but it can get better for the ones of us who have benign ectopic beats. So, my regime: 2xmagnesium a day, 2xfishoil a day, sometimes B6 (careful with those, as too much can cause problems later one). i still have the ectopics, but way less, feel much better and have a life again. Since last October, I've added Fishoil tablets (2/day, take the reflux-coated ones!) and wohooo, my life has changed. It all helped, but I kept having attacks of constanct pvc's (stress/food/lack of sleep, etc all triggers). I've gone to a naturopath and she put me on Magnesium (2xday) plus potassium (1/day) and Vit B6 (for the stress!). But it does affect ones life (it does mine). I've had ectopics for more than 14 years now (others here top that easily with 30 years plus!), and can tell you you do survive, somehow. And yes, it's a godsend, to have found this community, it helps to know we are not alone. Just reading your posts and feeling for you! I've been there, done that. Just the fact to know I wasn't alone helped! good luck to you :) I keep repeating my regime/history on this site, because if it helps just one of you out there, then I'm glad, because this site has certainly helped me to cope better. During those attacks I always felt so miserable and exhausted and stressed. Not sure why, but heck, I'm glad that it works. Now I'm thinking the fish-oil somehow calms down my stomach, hence my skips are much less. When my stomach was upset, my skips were worse. I feel that these skips have a lot to do with the vagus nerve, which runs from stomach via esophagus via heart to the brain (simplified, probably not 100% correct but you get the picture). very bad after too many pastry foods, very bad after too much white bread or anything that contains a lot of acidity. I almost always felt it had something to do with what I eat, i.e. On the bad days, it could happen that I had it every 2nd or 3rd beat, for several hours, sometimes througout the whole night. That's so good I could jump of joy!! I used to have bad and good days. I basically have ectopics every day, but these days I maybe feel up to 10 a day only (i.e. I know Ventricular ectopic beats are benign, but how many irregular beats is considered ok? If it is stress related, (stressful occupation) is there anything I can take that would help? Any suggestions other than Propranolol? Should I go back to the Cardiologist, or is this all just still part of what is considered to be normal ectopic beats? Starting to interfere with my life.Just want it to all go away!! Thanks for your help. (have read it can worsen with age, which concerns me for the future) I've had tests such as ultrasound and stress test, but this was awhile ago before they worsened. (Operating Theatre Nurse) And doesn't help settle them that much anyway!! I am 54 and I've had them on and off all my life, but never even close to this bad before. but this seems to make me tired with poor concentration, (hypotensive and bradycardic) which is not good for my job. I often get ventricular ectopic beats every 2nd or 3rd beat for a long period of time.to the point it seems more common for me than a regular beat.
